Porn charges for alleged child trafficker
A Verona man accused of child trafficking in July for allegedly trying to buy sex with an 8-year-old has been indicted on federal child pornography charges.


Paul M. Ketring, 39, was charged Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Madison with knowingly receiving visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and two counts of possessing a computer hard drive containing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to a news release from the federal Department of Justice.

VASD mulls how to use extra cash

Sixteen months after the Verona Area School District learned it would get that much money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the district has learned it will receive another $1.24 million. The new money, which the district found out about two weeks ago, comes from a $10 billion initiative signed by President Obama on Aug. 10.

The third annual Pedal for the House Charity Ride was held at Verona's Tollefson Park. The ride featured 10-, 20-, 40- and 60-mile courses for every level of biking enthusiast and drew more than 100 participants. All proceeds of the event benefited the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison.
